Wikicast Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions

Privacy Policy

The Wikicast app is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use the Wikicast app. If you choose to use the Wikicast app, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that collected is used for providing and improving the Service and will not be used or shared with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

The Wikicast app does not collect any personal information from you or your device. The app sends data off your device if you choose to publish a playlist as a "wikicast". In that case, the contents of the playlist are sent to a server, along with an anonymous identifier number. By default, no username is associated with playlists that you choose to upload. If you set a username inside the app, then the username is sent to the server along with the playlist. You can delete your username at any time, and subsequent uploads will not include this information. To remove your username from a published playlist, please contact comacino@gmail.com

When you play a playlist that was previously published by another user, the app will send information to a server indicating that the playlist has been selected. This does not include any identifying information, or information about you or your device. It is used to determine how popular different playlists are.

The app does not store information about what articles you have listened to on your phone but it does keep a record of what Wikicasts you have listened to. This is used to hide Wikicasts that you have already listened to from the list of available Wikicasts. This information is kept on your phone and not transmitted anywhere else.

The app uses Google Play Services that may collect information used to identify you. Here is a link to the privacy policy of Google Play Services.

Data from Google Play Services is used to collect error data. In a case of an error in the app, it sends data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing my Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, what part of the code caused the crash and other statistics.

Service Providers

The app uses third-party companies to let you search for articles to read, and download articles to your device. The app does not transmit information except for search terms and requests for downloads to these providers, however it is possible that they keep a record of your IP address and other information. Here is a link to the privacy policy of Wikipedia.

Links to Other Sites

This Service contains links to other sites not affiliated with the app. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. You are advised to review the Privacy Policy of these websites.

Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.
